It's practically a default by now.

I want to see a show where a character wants to write a book.
So they do.
Then they revise.
And revise.
And revise.
And revise some more.
And hate it.
And love it.
And revise again.
And then they try to get it published.
And they struggle.
And struggle.
And try.
And try.
And almost make it.
But in the end nothing happens.
But they keep writing anyway.
And they never get published.
Not even in the final episode.
Or maybe in that episode, at the very end, we see them open an e-mail, or letter, or whatever.
And the show ends.
And we never know what happened.

(Yeah, I know.  People would get mad.  They'd say it was another Sopranos thing.  Whatever.  The truth is, I'm sick of all of these shows that show someone sitting in the sunshine, writing what appears to be a first draft, never having to edit or revise before sending it off into the world, and then instantly getting published and becoming famous.  Actually, I think I might just be sick of writer characters altogether.)
