Though Morgan might ask for the brand back, if she's there.

It's a shame Klarian and Mordred never met.
Klarian could have strolled in after Mordred got rid of the adults and turned the heroes to children.
Though he might have gotten a little possessive about his "Uncle" Jason.
And he might not have liked the competition.
But I think he would have given that spoiled brat a run for his money.
They might have even become friends, each planning to get rid of the other later, after using him.
Just make sure there's plenty of strawberry ice cream, Mordred.
Because there's nothing as good as strawberry, nothing.

If you can't get it done on time that's not my problem.

I got it done.
I procrastinated,
And took my time,
But I still got it done.
And they aren't shy about letting you know the final date.
They really aren't.
The e-mails and phone calls verify that.
And I'd wager there would be letters, too.
So there's no reason you wouldn't know.
And no reason why you couldn't get it done.
Unless, you were in a coma.
Or deathly ill for a month.
Or marooned on a desert island.
But then someone could have done it for you.
So don't come crying to me that you didn't get it done.
You chose not to get it done.
And that's not my problem.

No one believes me when I tell them I'm horrible at driving games.

So they insist that I play.
Then they know.
And never ask again.

Sunday, November 19, 2017

Just in case you didn't believe me.

Though I will admit, there is another possible combination...

There just isn't a picture for it.

I hope the Beast Planet comes back, too.

I can't wait to see what Blokk, Lamprey, and Voyd are up to in the new Star Wars movie.

What?  You didn't see them in the previous one?  Huh.  Guess it was just me.  Oh well.

It does now.

There's nothing like reaching the end of a scene and having one of The Sound of Music children pop into your head saying, "But it doesn't mean anything!"
Yeah, I did sort of not answer that question.
And it being near the end, and the last scene for a lot of these people, I sort of needed to.
So I did.

Probably.

Is The Gifted hoping I don't remember the Morph storyline from the 90s X-Men cartoon?
Because it's really looking like that storyline right now only with different mutants.
I mean, I'm not expecting to see Master Mold or anything like that because that doesn't appear to be how sentinels work in this world, but it's really looking like someone saw that arc of episodes, or at least the first ones, and said, "Hey, that's a good idea.  We should totally use it."

Dearest Dryer,

While I appreciate the effort, I'd rather not feel as though I'm pulling my clothes from the fires of Mt. Doom.
(Besides, you're making the oven feel bad.)

Tuesday, October 10, 2017

That sort of ruins the surprise, doesn't it?

He's got his own poster, so he must be in the movie.
I guess he got better.
Or came back from vacation.

Wednesday, October 4, 2017

Maybe only during the tour for the album, or maybe not at all.

Every time I see a song that's fifteen or more minutes long I wonder how often it gets played in concerts, or if it ever even gets played at all.
I'm not talking about a fifteen minute song that's half solos or an extended jam.
I'm talking about a fifteen minute song with a lot of lyrics and not a lot of repeats.
Because if heard one of those live, I'd be pretty darn impressed.

Sunday, October 1, 2017

Must you play that solo now?

A slow song at the beginning of a run is completely different from a slow song at the end of one.

Now that's a ringing endorsement.

That scene was actually not horrible.
And much better than it was the day before when it had to be torn apart.
Because having them walk through the door meant they hadn't learned those things.
There may be hope for this thing yet.
Or at least another draft.
Or two.
Or seven.

Tuesday, September 26, 2017

It's neat, and sure beats the news.

But will only last until September 30th.

Wednesday, September 20, 2017

What did I get from my vacation?

Peace, quiet, driftwood, and rocks.

Because they inevitably take the only shady spot.

Those who insist on eating outside at a restaurant should have to take the seat in the sun.
If they wanted to be out in the warm sunshine, they should get the warm sunshine.
They shouldn't make someone else take it.
Because eating outside was their choice.
And eating outside means eating in the sun, not making someone else take that seat.
Otherwise, they won't be getting the full eating outside experience.
And if they wanted shade, they should have eaten indoors, where it's nothing but shade.
Except sometimes near the window, where there are usually shades.

I worry about you, eBay.

The things you're recommending for me are not even close to what I would be interested in, and nothing like anything I've looked at, ever.

College

Where every necklace you wear suddenly has to mean something.
(And it can't be that you just like owls, or dragons, or whatever.)

Sunday, June 25, 2017

I don't think it's too much to ask, do you?

My goal for this week is to not lose power.
It's happened the past two weeks and I'm getting sick of resetting the clocks.
And the VCR.
Yes, I have a VCR.
And tapes.
Yes.

(The good news is, I finished the thing I'd been working on each time the power went out, so it should stay on.)
(Said thing involved writing on a piece of paper with a pen.)
(And no use of power.)
(So I don't know why the power felt the need to go out.)
(Maybe it was feeling neglected.)

Thor: Ragnarok

And the Masters of the Universe.

What?
You didn't think that when you saw the title card?

Of course, the real question is: who's playing Skeletor?

That was close.

I'm really glad Scotty and Spock were able to save Captain Kirk from being blown up on that planet based on Earth during World War I.

It probably wasn't the director's intention.

But after watching Wonder Woman, I had to do a little research about WWI biplanes.
Turns out there were some that big.

(But honestly, that late in the war, the ice cream thing would never have happened.)
(And the Germans would have been much angrier about losing that battleship, because it was all a numbers game.)

Just say no.

I doesn't pay to be an actor named Chris playing a guy named Steve flying a plane in a movie set during a world war.

So is Themyscira in the North Sea or the Mediterranean?

Because I always thought it was near Greece.
But there's no way that that little boat made it to England in one night.
Because there's the little problem of Europe.
Unless it was a magic boat, like the ones from Avalon.
Maybe Themyscira is Avalon.
If so, does Oberon know the Amazons are there?
Are they his children, too?
Or is he going to get mad and do things, again?
And if it is Avalon, those weird sisters sure aren't very good at keeping out the riffraff.

(Do you think the Amazons ever met the gargoyles and the Scots?)

One little letter can make all the difference.

Especially when it's missing from the word peering.
(I won't tell you what letter it was, but it completely changed the scene.)

Thursday, May 18, 2017

He's octopied.

Because sometimes the typos don't even make it onto the page.

Sunday, May 14, 2017

It's not funny. It's terrifying.

Whenever I see a movie, tv show, or ad where they have someone falling on a treadmill as a joke, I always wonder if the person who came up with the idea had even fallen on one before.  If they had, I don't think they'd have made the joke.  I think they'd be thinking about how long it took the skin that was sanded off to grow back, and the utter terror they experienced when it happened.

Monday, May 8, 2017

I just don't.

I don't understand it when authors or anyone else apologizes for killing a character.
If it had to happen and served the needs of the story, then there's no reason to apologize.
If anything, the apology makes it sound like the death was a mistake.
If it was, fine.
If it wasn't, and you're doing it because people got sad or mad or angry on the internet, not so fine.

(That's not to say that you can't feel bad about killing a character.
You can.
You just don't need to apologize for doing it.)

Sometimes the character you've been looking for just wanders in.

Literally.

Monday, April 24, 2017

Nice.

Nice is a horrible word.
So is good.
Because there's always a but.
It's good, but not great.
Nice, but not for me.
It's like in school.
You're nice, and people tell you you're nice.
But you have no friends.
Because you're nice.
And you're left questioning what they meant by saying that.

Is it really that intimidating?

I read somewhere that the reason some people don't listen to classical music is because they're intimidated, and I suppose the same could be said for opera.
Really?
Can't you just like something because you like the way it sounds?
You don't need to be an expert on the form or the major players/composers/singers.
Heck, you don't even to have to understand the language.
You just have to like how it sounds, or how it makes you feel.
Or that it makes you feel anything at all.
It's not that hard, people.
Maybe it's not that they're intimidated.
Maybe they just haven't found the right tune.

The Seasons of Insanity have come to an end.

And I think it turned out pretty cool.

Friday, April 14, 2017

And where the heck was Diomed?

You don't need to have read The Illiad to watch the movie Troy.
The two have very little in common.

(Personally, I think they flipped through it once, grabbed a few characters and events, and then threw the book away, never to pick it up again.)

It's practically a default by now.

I want to see a show where a character wants to write a book.
So they do.
Then they revise.
And revise.
And revise.
And revise some more.
And hate it.
And love it.
And revise again.
And then they try to get it published.
And they struggle.
And struggle.
And try.
And try.
And almost make it.
But in the end nothing happens.
But they keep writing anyway.
And they never get published.
Not even in the final episode.
Or maybe in that episode, at the very end, we see them open an e-mail, or letter, or whatever.
And the show ends.
And we never know what happened.

(Yeah, I know.  People would get mad.  They'd say it was another Sopranos thing.  Whatever.  The truth is, I'm sick of all of these shows that show someone sitting in the sunshine, writing what appears to be a first draft, never having to edit or revise before sending it off into the world, and then instantly getting published and becoming famous.  Actually, I think I might just be sick of writer characters altogether.)

Just think of all the free time I'll have. Why, I could read a book.

They took a show with promise.
Turned one character into a caricature and a trope.
Turned another into a Mary Sue and a god.
And made everyone else an idiot.
Then they got political.
And not subtly political.
But "I'm going to hit you over the head with this and turn on flashing lights and sirens" political.
Honestly, right now I'm just gutting it out until the season ends because there's nothing better on.
And depending on how it ends, I will or won't come back.
Right now I'm leaning toward won't.

(And I'm not even going to mention Elf Prom.)

Friday, April 7, 2017

If owls can, why can't they?

Baby turkeys should be called turklets.
(Because saying it always makes me smile.)

Sunday, April 2, 2017

Yes, I'm having fun. No, your asking isn't annoying at all.

Why is it that if someone announces that they're going to stop drinking, they're viewed as noble and someone to be admired, but if someone has never really drank because it never appealed to them, they're looked at as though there's something terribly wrong with them, like they've suddenly sprouted three heads?

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

And I still don't believe the ruler, no matter how many times I measure.

One side of the tree circle looks wider than the other.
It's really narrower.
I have accidentally created an optical illusion and it's driving me nuts.

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Mr. Williams?

Sometimes I think movie soundtrack composers don't expect me to listen to opera and classical music.
(I swear I've heard bits of Aida, Carmen, and Grieg in Harry Potter and Star Wars.)

Monday, February 27, 2017

But is it really?

The phrase "Worst _________ of all time" has been used so much that it's lost all meaning.
Because if everything is the worst, then when something really is, I won't believe it.
I'll just think, "There you go again.  Get back to the pasture, the sheep are waiting."

Saturday, February 25, 2017

Don't tell me this is the end.

I think I'd prefer to not know that I'm watching the final episode of a show until after it's over.
Knowing beforehand puts me in a weird frame of mind.
I think too much about the episode, and the show, and don't enjoy it.
And sometimes the episode just seems off.
Like the show is trying to prove something.
Or all of a sudden trying to do something new.
Then again, maybe it's the finality of it all.
Knowing there won't be another episode.
That this is the end.
And I'll never see these characters again outside of reruns.
But it could also be that some series just haven't ended all that well.
Like they didn't know how to end.
So they went a little crazy.
Even if it wasn't the Fourth of July.

Monday, February 13, 2017

I liked the movie well enough.

I just think they messed up Tarkin.
His voice was too deep and loud.
It needs to be whispery yet strong.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

A.K.A.: Your contract is for one movie and one movie only.

(Does this mean we'll get to see the Bothans in the next one?)
(I'm not sure.  Mon Mothma didn't really seem to care about them.)

Monday, January 30, 2017

Facebook needs me more than I need it.

And I really don't need it right now.
Because all I see is negativity and people talking at each other.
(I realize the irony of posting this here, but I really can't stand being on that site right now.)
